We celebrated Easter and Colleen's 81st birthday at her house in Carnesville. Billy gave us a special surprise when he became Bill Cottontail - the Easter Bunny.

Colleen went into the emergency room at Athens Regional Hospital for heart problems. It was very severe, and the whole family was prepared for the worst, but she pulled through. Then she had another close call in ICU a few days later when they gave her some medication to stabilize her heart rate that caused her to bleed internally.

Cheryl arranged a birthday brunch at Ray's On The River for Colleen on her 80th birthday.
The week before, Cheryl nearly died while recovering from surgery in the hospital. She slipped and fell, and after the attendant picked her up from the floor, they discovered she was bleeding internally. The operation had to be redone and she needed a blood transfusion to make it through.

1/23/2001 Lauren Joy Banks has arrived! Dawn and
Billy have baby #3! She was born on Tuesday, January 23 at 11:36
am. She weighed 8 lbs. 7 ozs. and is 21 inches long. Congratulations!!!
Dawn says, "She is a wonderful baby--hardly ever cries! We're doing great. Labor was tough but quick thank goodness. I had her in less than an hour after the tough contractions started. Pushed her out in about 3 contractions!" Well, you HAD to know! |
Megan and Blake really seem to love her and so far are adjusting well. |
