Sister, Sister
Diane and Donna have gone into business and call themselves "Sister, Sister.". They've rented a space at Southern Antiques Gallery at Highway 92 and Canton Road in Woodstock. Their first month was October 2005. Not such a great month. Then November came and went, without much to speak of. But December was very good. They sold enough to pay for the first three months and still make a profit! This is their first venture together and so far, it's been a very rewarding experience.
![]() The view of the corner This is the way the booth looks as of this past weekend, January 21. I like the buttery yellow background. That's an old iron fence gate hanging there in the corner. |
![]() The view toward the front This is what you see as you walk down the aisle toward the back of the store. The large cabinet on the right is a piece Diane bought from another booth owner in the store. |
![]() Hog Dog There are so many things, I thought I'd point a few out. Donna got a bunch of these Harley tee shirts and Diane hung one on display on a dalmation hanger she had. |
![]() Military Drum Ice Bucket This ice bucket was made the same was as the old marching military snare drums from the 18th century. It sits on a vanity bench that was recovered in leopard print by Diane. |
![]() Hanging gate The iron gate hangs from two cloth napkins. Hanging from the gate are various homey welcome signs. |
![]() Welcome wreath As anyone who has ever gotten a gift from Diane knows, she loves to do pretty things with ribbon. This vine wreath has baby's breath and foil ribbon around it. It's hard to see from this picture but it's also got a ballet tutu on a hanger and a number of other very cute items. |
![]() Lambing chair While this chair was in our house, I always told Diane how much I would love to get rid of it. We didn't have an entrance hall and it really wasn't made to be comfortable. We started looking at what the heck it was on the internet and found out that it's called a lambing chair. Old ones are pretty expensive. This one was hand made in 1970. |
![]() Primitive cabinet This was the cabinet that Diane bought for the booth. There's a lighted picture of Jesus on the bottom shelf. And there's more stuff hanging from the back of the cabinet facing the back aisle. |
![]() Piggie Bank Sitting on the corner of the cabinet is this very unusual, old, cute lil' piggie-bank made from paper mache. |
![]() Hat and Purse Lamp And sitting to the side of the cabinet is a lamp Diane made from an antique purse, antique hat, pearls, and earrings. |
